Toronto Musicians Wanted
Hi! Do you like, jazz, funk, soul and groovy music?
Looking for pro musicians to set up a band to play original tunes. Style is 70 rhodes/synth/guitar-driven groovy jazz-funk. We are talking about, Deodato, Schifrin and so on.
Musicians are required to be able to read music sheet and have a knowledge of Harmony (I do not care if you ever been at University or not, as long as you are proficient at what you do), and some solid experience in both live and studio.
Guitar, Percussion, Drums and Bass player positions available for an audition.
Guitar: no super jazzy Jazz-Chorus and ES-175 only but you must be able to know what a fuzz is and how a wah-wah works.
Percussion: Preferable a latin/oriental/african-minded musician who is able to add some atmosphere to a song with just a few minor instruments as well. Good meter is a MUST.
Drums: Super steady musician. Good meter. You know the rest. I'm not interested in a “brush-only” guy/girl.
Bass: You play upright? Cool! But sometimes it won't fit here, so I'm looking for a 70's minded musician, who is able to perform well, is able to read and knows how to get the real sound. Both Electric Bass and Upright preferably.
This is not a Salsa-like band, but a solid jazz-groove concept in terms of late 70's. We can compose tunes altogether if there is a feeling towards it.
All ages are welcome obviously. This is not an amateur band, which means you must be able to rehearsal any morning. We can set up evening rehearsals too some times, but availability is a must.
Me: I'm 39, Spanish keyboard player who have been with some major artists in Europe. I have solid knowledge of music and commitment with any project involving serious music and nice people who would like to build something.
If you think this is of your liking, please drop me a line. We can have a meet and greet coffee and talk about it.
Thanks for taking the time to read this!
