Hey, thanks for stoppin’ by, I appreciate your time (no pun intended).
Like playin’ mod UK 65' era hard RnB grooves mixed in w. a wide sonic palette from other genres?
Have at least an intermediate skill level and are able to flow and improvise on the fly w. your set-up?
Then read on!
40+ yr old lookin’ to find a 2nd guitarist to join our 4 piece (Gtr, Organ Drums & Bass) playin’ our own groovin’ hard soul, garage/psych, Mod 60s RnB trks with forays into improv rave-ups and chaos.
We write our own cuts but will be pickin’ a few choice covers to add to the set down the road. Early Who meets Booker T. & the MG’s is the flavour, but we’ll defo be playing with that template in the daze to come. Personally, I love Brian Auger & the Trinity/Oblivion Express, the James Taylor Quartet, Graham Bond Organization, and the endless parade of brilliant Organists from the era. Here, dig the GBO vibe!
I'm such a sucker for this kind of Mod groove.
That said, I also love Sonic Youth, MBV, Krautrock and so much more - would love to cross pollinate all these brilliant tones and textures.
We’re getting together once a week on the regular to work on a handful of originals. Early days as yet, but we would love another writer/contributor to help us thru to the promised land of playing choice gigs to fans of the sounds.
Your rhythm, melodies, soundscapes and input will change everything.
Personally, we love takin the standard (genre/cliches), and really pullin’ in the unexpected flavours n’ colours to create something fresh, new, visceral and relevant (…well, to us at least!), while remaining ever dedicated to keepin’ the heads noddin’, feet stompin’ and sweat drippin’ on the dancefloor. The imaginary one. In the sky. Up there.
We practice weekly at Lynx.
If this sounds like it might be your bag, come sit in a session with us and find out.
We’re good lads, easy going, no stress, quick to laugh & playfully rib, and have all been thru the music gauntlet, so we’re just lookin’ for a good time. You can say and be whatever you want to. You’re free to be you.
Cool?
Great, now let’s just have fun & play already.
